JOE KOESTER
Joe, a native of Northern Kentucky, represents the second generation of family at Herzog Jewelers. After completing his Bachelor's degree in Economics at Eastern Kentucky University, Joe began a career with General Electric. Following his marriage to Valera Herzog, Joe elected to leave General Electric and join the family business alongside his father-in-law and founder of Herzog Jewelers, Elmer T. Herzog. After eight years of continued success, Elmer retired and Joe purchased the family business. In an effort to better serve his clientele, Joe decided to move the store from its original location in Covington, KY to a larger, more convenient location in Fort Mitchell, KY. During this time, Joe also received his Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and his Certified Gemologist degree from the American Gem Society (AGS). Joe is credited for building the business to what it represents today.
Joe oversees the overall operations of the store as well as Herzog Jeweler's extensive involvement in the community. He serves on several boards throughout the community such as the Saint Elizabeth Foundation Board, the Retail Jewelers Organization Board, the NKY Water District and is actively involved in the community. In his spare time, Joe enjoys traveling and working on his farm growing over three-hundred tomato plants, blackberries and blueberries in the summer and giving them away to customers.
OWNER
Ted Koester
Ted is the third generation of the Herzog family to oversee day-to-day operations at Herzog Jewelers. With a degree from Marquette University in Economics, a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and a Certified Gemologist degree from the American Gem Society (AGS), Ted is our resident expert on all things Diamond and Gemstone. He is known by his coworkers for being able to solve any problem that comes his way. Ted’s favorite pieces in store are Shinola watches; the Bronze Monster Watch can almost always be seen on his wrist. If he could pick jewelry for any celebrity, he would pick Dr. Strange. When not at work, he enjoys spending time in his yard with his wife, two kids, and their dogs, Dolly and Dixie.

Sales/ Inventory Manager
Terry Berte
Terry has been a part of the Herzog team since 1984! Her experience and ability shows in everything she does- which is a little bit of everything! She is known around the store for being able to solve or fix almost any problem. Terry’s cheery personality has earned her a “fan club” of people who trust her to find the perfect piece or complete small jewelry repairs. Terry loves trying and exploring new things and places and can find enjoyment in most anything she does. She has a fondness for pearls and round diamonds. Outside of work Terry loves thrifting, reading, and spending time in her Greenhills community with her family (especially her grandsons), and their dog, Lucy.
IN-HOUSE JEWELER
ANGIE GRUBBS
Angie first took up an interest in jewelry repair after taking a metals class at Miami University- after that she was hooked! She started as an Apprentice Jeweler in 1997. Since then, she has furthered her skills by training with highly skilled artisans, seeking out new techniques, even managing a repair shop for 10+ years. Along with her years of experience, Angie also boasts a Diamond Council of America certification. Your jewelry is in very capable hands! Her favorite part of jewelry repair is getting to ensure that heirloom pieces will continue to be cherished for generations. Her coworkers admire her ability to help others understand the processes needed to bring jewelry back to life. When not at work Angie enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 furbabies, as well as their extended family. Angie’s favorite personal piece of jewelry? Her yellow diamond wedding ring!

Sales Associate
Dustin Hannika
Dustin started in the jewelry business in college. His job? Gift wrapping! He gradually worked his way into sales, and later into management, but can still tie a perfect Tiffany bow. His relaxed demeanor and wealth of knowledge put even the most nervous ring-buyers at ease. Dustin’s favorite part of being in the jewelry industry is getting to be a small part of life’s celebrations. His favorite gemstones are blue diamonds. His most precious piece of jewelry from his personal collection is his late father’s wedding band. Outside of work Dustin loves spending time with his 7 children, coaching sports and attending their orchestra events. He also looks forward to sharing an occasional quiet night out with his Fiance!
visual coordinator
taylor Lindsay
It’s not unusual to see Taylor running around the store with a camera in hand! With a BFA in Visual Design from Northern Kentucky University, she takes care of web and content creation, inventory, and a few other odds and ends (including making everyone coffee!) when not on the sales floor. Her favorite part of working in jewelry is finding the perfect pieces to compliment one another- especially wedding bands and engagement rings. She is partial to yellow gold solitaires, and loves princess and emerald cut diamonds. If Taylor could sell jewelry to any celebrity, it would be Dolly Parton. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats, Peg and Steely Dan.

Sales Associate
Shelby Trumbo
Shelby has been in the jewelry industry since 2020, when she began working as a shop manager at James Avery. She also created her own small batch clay jewelry line, Molded Co. She excels at recognizing trends and can help you pick the perfect piece or pairing to make you feel great! Her creativity helps her visualize the perfect setting for your next reset or custom purchase. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their baby drinking coffee, going to craft shows, and enjoying their yard. If she could choose jewelry for any celebrity, she would pick Lady Gaga or Lizzo.
