Diamond Upgrade Policy

We stand behind every diamond we sell. If you purchased a qualifying center diamond from Herzog Jewelers, you may trade it in toward a new center diamond of equal or greater value, subject to the terms below.

If you purchased a center diamond in an engagement ring from us, you may trade it in toward a new center diamond of equal or greater value.

Credit is equal to the original purchase price you paid for the center diamond only.
Trade-in credit applies toward a new center diamond of equal or greater value.
Credit is non-cash and may not be applied to any other merchandise.
The original center diamond must be returned to Herzog Jewelers as part of the trade.
Condition requirement: the diamond must be free of damage or wear and tear.
Documentation required: the original GIA, IGI, or other grading report that accompanied the diamond is required at time of trade-in.
Verification: all diamonds are subject to verification by Herzog Jewelers prior to final trade-in approval.
Eligibility: this program applies to center diamonds purchased from Herzog Jewelers only.
Not included: side stones, settings, bands, or any other jewelry purchased from us.
Final sale: all other jewelry sales are final; we do not accept returns or trade-ins on previously worn jewelry.

Lab-grown diamond values fluctuate with market conditions. This program is structured differently from our natural diamond program to keep it fair for customers and our business.

Eligibility: lab-grown center diamonds purchased from Herzog Jewelers are eligible for trade-in credit toward a new center diamond of equal or greater value.
Credit amount: trade-in credit is based on the current market value at the time of trade-in, as assessed by Herzog Jewelers, not the original purchase price.
Credit is non-cash and must be applied toward a new center diamond of equal or greater value.
The original center diamond must be returned to Herzog Jewelers as part of the trade.
Condition requirement: the diamond must be free of damage or wear and tear.
Documentation required: the original IGI grading report that accompanied the diamond is required at time of trade-in.
Verification: all diamonds are subject to verification by Herzog Jewelers prior to final trade-in approval.
Not included: side stones, settings, bands, or any other jewelry.
Final sale: all other jewelry sales are final.

Lifetime policy: This is a lifetime upgrade policy for the original qualifying diamond, subject to the terms above and verification at the time of trade-in.

Limitations: One trade-in per qualifying diamond. Herzog Jewelers reserves the right to refuse any trade-in that cannot be verified, is damaged, shows wear, has been altered, or does not meet eligibility requirements.

Note: Due to the evolving nature of the lab-grown diamond market, trade-in values may differ significantly from original purchase price. We encourage customers to ask about this distinction at the time of purchase.

Upgrade Policy Disclaimer: Lifetime upgrade applies to qualifying center diamonds purchased from Herzog Jewelers. Natural diamonds receive credit equal to the original purchase price; lab-grown diamonds are credited at current market value.
