Within this miniature landscape of unique and natural occurrences, tiny specks, ripples and indentations are imbedded in the crystal. These marks identify the diamond much like a fingerprint. The number, size, position and nature of these inclusions determine its clarity. The fewer the inclusions, the higher the diamond will be graded and the more light it will reflect, making it more valuable. Since it is very rare to find a diamond that has no inclusions, the closer to flawless it is, the greater the value. However, even minor inclusions may not be visible to the naked eye and, therefore, need not lessen the diamond's beauty.
